11 Round Pond Sauvignon Blanc ($24) ☺☺☺

A great seafood accompaniment but be careful not to chill it too much. The initial nose is a peachy citrus style with some hint of melon. On the palette it evolves to give melon, lemon zest and hints of that acidic structure. Overall the finish is long and pleasant, especially when served with fresh fish. Drink you and serve slightly chilled.

09 Loring Rosella Vineyard Pinot Noir ($45) ☺☺☺☺

Loring continue to go from strength to strength. Their range of Pinot Noir is all in the "very good" bracket and this one is no exception. The nose is very jammy, giving loads of cherry and deep black fruit. On the palate it has hints of spice and a long long finish with liquorice and firm tannins. Great food wine.

08 Windsor Oaks 2 Clone Pinot Noir ($35) ☺☺☺

Set in the Chalk Hill AVA to the southeast of Healdsburg Windsor Oaks produces some nice wines at reasonable prices. This pinot has all the classic strawberry and cherry on the nose and a hint of rose petal, all brought about by the choice of Dijon clones used in the blend. The palate has hints of vanilla coming from the French oak barrels. All in all very drinkable.
